IOM and KSRelief Sign New Joint Agreement to Strengthen Existing Humanitarian Co-operation
(Riyadh). The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) signed on 20 February 2023 a joint agreement in Riyadh to further strengthen existing humanitarian cooperation and partnership between the two organizations.
The agreement focuses on joint efforts including coordination of humanitarian assistance in emergency and crisis situations, transition and recovery, humanitarian border management, exchange of knowledge and field experiences, and capacity building.
The agreement was signed by IOM Director General, Mr António Vitorino, and KSRelief Supervisor General, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah -, during the 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (20-21 February).
“I am pleased to sign a new cooperation agreement with our valued partner, KSRelief, to strengthen our existing humanitarian alliance worldwide.” said IOM Director General António Vitorino. “This agreement stands as a significant milestone to build on existing partnership with KSrelief, which has been critical in enabling our teams to reach millions of people indeed with humanitarian aid.”
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah A. Al Rabeeah, General Supervisor of KSRelief, said: “KSRelief is pleased to sign a partnership agreement with IOM given its competence and reputation at the international level in terms of speed of access and implementation capabilities. KSRelief hopes that this relationship and partnership will develop to achieve the noble goals of alleviating the suffering of the affected and the needy, especially the refugees and the displaced”.
KSRelief and IOM enjoy an excellent cooperation and a long-standing partnership in the response to humanitarian crises in MENA region and beyond.
